General Purpose:

The Wayne County Circuit Court seeks a Judicial Attorney for a large Civil Division Docket. The principal responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Ability to research legal issues on large volume civil docket; identify and analyze complex legal issues, apply legal principals, and draft legal memorandums.
• Prepare various Orders including Trial Scheduling Orders, Appeal Scheduling Orders and general Orders.
• Responds to daily correspondence from attorneys and litigants.
• Remain current with recent changes in the law, court rules, and court procedures.
• Coordinates scheduling of docket with Court Clerk.
• Assists with check in of lawyers and litigants over Zoom and various other administrative duties.
• Very proficient on Westlaw, Lexis and available research resources.

Candidates must have graduated from an accredited law school; be an active member in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan; possess a positive disposition; interact in a professional manner with litigants and court staff; possess excellent legal research, analysis, and writing skills; be reliable and willing to accept responsibility; be efficient, able to produce on deadline, and able to accept constructive direction. Work as a team player. The salary for this position is approximately $63,000.00-$78,000.00, plus benefits, depending on years of practice .
