MADELYNE C. LAWRY Executive Director 1992 – Present The executive director of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, Inc is the chief executive officer of a 530 + member statewide professional association. The executive director is directly reportable to the 16-member board of directors and is supervised by the elected president. With 19 years of association management experience, Madelyne Lawry is a seasoned professional with realistic, action-based plans that have achieved high performance for 16 organizations. While she is personal in her approach with colleagues on all professional levels, the hallmark of Lawry’s business standards has been to maintain constant customer communication that is effective and efficient. With a continuous and a genuine desire to improve all levels of diverse client services that will help varied establishments succeed, she adapts quickly to change, enabling her to manage multiple projects and staff with ease and precision. Lawry’s background includes: – Budget and finance – Communications – Establishing a small business – Management supervision for employees in all areas of association management – New business development – Sales management Lawry acquired her AA from Lansing Community College and a BBA in management from Northwood University in Midland, MI. Currently, Lawry serves on committees for the Michigan Society of Association Executives and State Bar of Michigan, volunteers for the American Red Cross, serves on the Oneida Township Planning Commission, and is a past President of the Michigan Association of Bar Executives. Lawry is also the owner of the management company Shared Resources, Inc.
