Scott L. Mandel
Scott L. Mandel is a Shareholder with Foster, Swift, Collins & Smith, P.C. since 1981 working out of the Lansing office. He graduated from Wayne State University Law School J.D. in 1981 with the distinction: cum laude. Before that achievement he graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in 1978 with high honors. He focuses his practice in the areas of: Administrative Law, Commercial Litigation, Health Care, Insurance Defense, Insurance Regulatory and Business Litigation, Medical Malpractice Defense, Personal Injury Litigation, Trade Secret and Noncompete Contracts. He has worked in front of the US Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is the Author of, "Representing an Insurance Company Before a Jury," Michigan Defense Quarterly, published in Winter 1997. Mr. Mandel has also received the distinctive awards of: Michigan Super Lawyers, American Lawyer: Top Commercial Litigation Lawyers, and Best Lawyers in America: Woodward/White, Inc. His Bar association memberships include: State Bar of Michigan, American Bar Association, Ingham County Bar Association (Board of Directors), and Federal Bar Association. He is also associated with: Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, Association of Defense Trial Lawyers, Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, American Health Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute.
